YellaWood
Framestore and Brunner have partnered to bring to life two new campaigns for lumber company YellaWood, the first of which has recently launched. Directed by Murray Butler with Framestore Pictures, the first spot in the campaign, ‘Boards,’ tracks hundreds of YellaWood boards on their journey as they soar through the air. They fly from the aisles of the warehouse to the backyard of a picturesque suburban home, magically assembling themselves into a beautiful, welcoming new deck.
To provide the perfect backdrop for the hero of the spot, the YellaWood lumber, the opening scenes were shot using a 12th scale model of the lumberyard interior and a 24th scale model of the warehouses exterior. The team used motion control so that they could get the precise moves needed to follow the path of the boards as they rushed through the warehouse, while drones were used to capture the aerial footage of the landscape that set the scene for the lumber’s long trip.
